Centennial, Colorado’s newest city, is located in the southern Denver Metro area within Arapahoe County and is home to more than 100,000 residents. Incorporated in 2001, Centennial has been ranked as the safest city in Colorado for the second year in a row.* On November 17, 2006, Centennial Denver CO Real Estate residents celebrated the opening of the Southeast Light Rail line offering new services along I-25 from the Broadway/I-25 interchange south to Lincoln Avenue and a spur along I-225 to Parker Road. The Arapahoe at Village Center station in Greenwood Village is located a few blocks north of Arapahoe Road off Yosemite. The Dry Creek station is just south of Dry Creek Rd in Centennial and the County Line station is just south of County Line Road in Lone Tree.
Light rail transit provides an alternative means of travel that is about 20 minutes faster than driving in one direction along the Southeast Corridor. It is highly reliable, since it is not affected by weather or accidents on the highway, and takes about as much space as two highway lanes. On the Southeast Light Rail lines, more than 33,000 light rail riders are expected daily. Unique to the Southeast Light Rail line, 13 stations include unique art themes of movement and light, nature, weather and time and are applied to common features such as windscreen benches, decorative railings and canopy pillars. RTD believes that public art provides a connection between neighborhoods and transit and adds value and cultural diversity to the Denver Real Estate community and transit system as a whole.
In addition to light rail, the Call-n-Ride is a new service for residents of Centennial. Labeled as an "experiment" by the RTD, Call-n-Ride features 16-passenger vans. Instead of running along a traditional fixed route, these vans can go anywhere a resident would like to go within a specific territory. Currently there are seven Call-n-Ride territories in and around the southeast I-25 Corridor: Arapahoe, Orchard, Dry Creek, North Inverness, South Inverness, Meridian and Lone Tree. To use Call-n-Ride, a resident calls the van driver in their territory and requests the planned trip. Rides are scheduled on a first-called, first-served basis. These are shared rides and fares are the same as riding a fixed route bus or light rail train.
