The City of Parker was incorporated in 1981 and was first recognized as the equestrian capital of Colorado. Over the past 26 years, Parker CO has transformed from its rural equestrian roots to become a convenient choice for many due to its country setting with beautiful open spaces and well planned Denver Real Estate residential and commercial developments. It is also a growing city, continuously expanding with new subdivisions, shopping centers and recreational areas. Between 1994 and 2003, Parker averaged a growth of 18% per year.  Parker offers a great variety of Denver CO Real Estate housing options for its residents, from older traditional homes to private golf communities. For Denver homebuyers looking to relocate, Money Magazine ranked Parker, CO #26 out of the 100 best places to live for 2007!

Parker is located 20 miles southeast of downtown Denver in Douglas County and is 18.8 square miles in size. The city has easy access to E-470, is 5 miles east of I-25, and a 15-20 minute drive to Inverness and the Denver Tech Center. Denver International Airport (DIA) is located 30 miles northeast of Parker. The exciting small town boasts 200 acres of parkland, 700 acres of open space and 8 golf courses. Parker is particularly known for its charming, Western/Victorian-style downtown area. Its downtown area features quaint pedestrian walkways, locally-owned businesses, and a newly expanded community park.

Beautiful walking and biking trails as well as equestrian facilities are plentiful in the Parker vicinity. Constructed in 1992, the Parker Recreation Department keeps residents active and adds to the quality of lifestyle. In the past 5 years, Parker Recreation has donated over $15.8 million dollars to the creation and maintaining of new parks, outdoor trails and recreational facilities throughout the city. The Parker Recreation Center offers members state-of-the-art workout facilities, pool, hockey rink, skateboard park, sports teams, and workout classes.
